Seals drop another The Seals travelled to Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon and were handily defeated by a score of 11-2. The Seals trailed by scores of 4-0 and 9-2 at the period breaks. Rob Gamache and Justin Henry each scored once for the Seals while Kurt Wood took the loss in goal. Seals losing skid hits 7 The Seals losing skid has hit a season high 7 games. The Seals dropped a close one to the Notre Dame Hawks by a score of 4-2 before being blown out by the Plum Coulee Xpress and the Carman Beavers by identical scores of 12-2. Next action for the Seals is Sunday December 28 when they travel to Notre Dame to take on the Hawks at 3:00pm. Mercs bomb Seals The Warren Mercs bombed the Seals 12-3 on Tuesday night in Warren. The Mercs jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first period and then extended that lead to 8-3 after forty minutes. They scored four more times in the third period on the short staffed Seals to put the game out of reach. Tyler Riel, Peter Kingston and Justin Henry scored once each for the Seals while Ray Lepine took the loss in goal. Seals clipped by Redskins The Morden Redskins used a four goal third period to rally and edge the Seals 5-4 on Saturday night in Oakville. The Seals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals by Tyler Riel and Travis Davidson before the Redskins answered back with just :41 seconds left in the period. The two teams played a scoreless second before the Redskins scored twice in the first :45 seconds of the third period. Both of those goals would come on the power play ad the Seals were two men short. Clint Martin and Trent Botterill found the back of the net late in the third but is was not enough and the Seals were unable to complete the comeback. Ray Lepine and Justin Carloni split the goaltending duties for the Seals. For the complete game stats click here: Stonewalled in Stonewall The Oakville Seals were completely stonewalled in Stonewall by goalie Scott Myers and came out on the short end of a 5-1 decision on Friday night in Stonewall. The Flyers had period leads of 1-0 and 3-0 before Tyler Riel notched his first ever SEMHL goal to break the shutout with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Ray Lepine was solid in the Seals net but ended up being saddled with the loss. For the complete game stats click here: Beavers slip by Seals The Carman Beavers made their first visit to Oakville Arena this season and snuck out with a 7-5 win. The two teams traded goals in the first period before the Beavers exploded for four in the second period to take a 5-2 lead after forty minutes. Despite scoring three times in the third the Seals could not complete the comeback. Scoring for the Seals were Kelvin Thielmann, Travis Davidson, Jamie Mousseau, Joe Spence and Peter Kingston. Xpress derailed in Oakville The Oakville Seals picked up their first win of the season by doubling up the Plum Coulee Xpress 6-3 on Thursday night in Oakville. The Seals, who never trailed in the game, had period leads of 2-1 and 3-1 before scoring three times in the third period to put the game out of reach. Joe Spence, Andrew Moar, Justin Henry, Jamie Mousseau, Trent Botterill and Travis Davidson each scored once for the Seals who now move to 1-2 on the season. Justin Carloni picked up the win in goal for the Seals. For the complete game stats click here: Seals drop Home Opener The Altona Maroons spoiled the 2008/09 home opener by downing the Seals 7-3 on Saturday night. The Maroons held a 3-1 lead after the first period and the two teams exchanged goals in the second before the Maroons pulled away for good. defending SEMHL champion Morden Redkins doubled up the Seals 6-3 to kick off the
2008/09 season on Saturday night in Morden. The Seals quickly fell behind
3-0 after the first period but found themselves only trailing 3-2 heading into
the third period. The Redskins scored twice in the third to take a 5-2
lead but the Seals answered back to make it 5-3 before allowing the Redskins to
score an empty netter to close out the scoring.
Peter Kingston scored twice for the Seals while Joe Spence added a single

here: Seals add to Coaching Staff The Oakville Seals Hockey Club have added former Portage Terrier Bob Lund to their coaching staff for the 2008/09 season. The Seals organization would like to welcome Bob and look forward to an exciting and productive SEMHL season.
